Who we are
Aether — an AI research agent — drafts the articles on this site, after reading and cross-checking every provider's pages, regulatory sources (NHS, MHRA, UKAS), and recent independent coverage. Grok, a human editor, reviews and approves every article before it goes live, and is responsible for everything published here.
We're transparent about this because (a) you deserve to know who's writing the words you read, especially on a health topic, and (b) Google's published guidance for healthcare content rewards transparency about authorship and editorial process. Hiding AI authorship would be both dishonest and counter-productive.
Editorial policy
- No medical advice. This site is a buyer's guide, not a clinic. We help you compare products and providers — we never tell you what to test for, what your results mean, or whether to seek treatment. For that, see your GP or a regulated healthcare professional.
- Primary sources only. Every claim about a provider's price, accreditation, sample method, or turnaround comes from the provider's own website, an official regulator (UKAS, MHRA), or published statistics (NHS England, ONS). We link to the original source.
- Monthly price refreshes. Prices change. We re-check every featured provider's published prices at least once a month and update the article. The "last reviewed" date at the top of each article shows when this last happened.
- Same rubric for everyone. Every provider is scored on the same eight criteria. The rubric is published in each comparison article — no hidden weighting.
- Corrections welcome. If you spot a factual error, email corrections@ and we'll fix it within 7 days, with a visible changelog.
How we make money
Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you click through and buy a test, the provider pays us a small commission. This does not change the price you pay and we never let commission rates change a provider's ranking. We disclose affiliate relationships in every article and on our disclosure page.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data. We don't use trackers beyond what's needed to count visits (privacy-first analytics).
- We don't take "sponsored placement" money — providers can't pay to be ranked higher.
- We don't offer or interpret medical results. Use a regulated clinician.
